Basic Info BioI'm Cait - short for Caitlin - 41, a linguist and translator by profession, living in Waterloo. I work for a speech-recognition software company. I am reasonably fluent in English, French, German and Russian, and have some capacity to handle Spanish and Japanese as well. I'm currently working on learning Mandarin, and intend to add Arabic, Hindi and a major African language over time.
I play, referee and coach women's soccer, though I am also physically disabled. I live with serious chronic back pain, and use a cane in my daily life. I manage to play soccer by the simple expedient of taking more pain pills. I am also a devoted fan of the English Premier League's Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
I was born in Hertfordshire, UK, but have lived in Canada for much of my life. I am a former member of the Canadian Forces, having been an enlisted signaller (and proud bearer of the Jimmy) in my youth.
I am also a gamer of long experience, playing role-playing, board, card and war games with equal pleasure.
